Hang In There…

Just one day.

One more day, and the exams will be over.

Am really looking forward to the two-week break whereby my mind will be totally blank, with no lingering thoughts of exams and assignments.
I can then concentrate on clearing my work which had accumulated into a serious backlog with my absence in the office.

Now, I REALLY need to pull my attention back to my study notes.
And stop gaming / blogging / surfing.

Time is running out and I did not really do any constructive today, even though I’m home.
Oh well, I did put the dirty laundry into the machine and hanged it out to dry under the hot sun.

Ok, back to revising.
Goodbye.

Movies and Books

I REALLY need 48 hours in a day.

Missed two movies which I wanna watch!
Bride Wars and Wedding Game… :(

I just got my HSBC card, and is enjoying the $7.50 weekend movie price so I wanna watch lots of movies now.
Pink Panther was hilarious, and I love Look for a Star.
Though I only watched it in the cinema because of Andy Lau. Gee…

Next week, I MUST catch these:

1) He’s Just Not That Into You
2) The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
3) Slumdog Millionaire

Have been hearing movie reviews on 93.3 for these shows and I can’t wait to watch all of them.

===============================
In addition to my love for movies, I also adore reading.
Especially chick flicks.

Just finished Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella, one of my favorite authors.
This book was published last year, but I waited for ages before the smaller version of the paperback is released.

I have yet to finish The Host by Stephenie Meyer!
Audrey gave me this book for Xmas last year.. So sweet of her to remember that I want this. *blush*
I left it at Ray’s place so that I can read it when I sleep over, but I hardly do so nowadays so it remains unfinished!

And now, I just started on The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins this morning.
This book is really exciting and I can hardly bear to put it down. Already completed almost half of the book by now!

***********

COULD YOU SURVIVE ON YOUR OWN, IN THE WILD, WITH EVERYONE FIGHTING AGAINST YOU?

Twenty- four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives.

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death – televised for all of Panem to see.

Survival is second nature for sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who struggles to feed her mother and younger sister by secretly hunting and gathering beyond the fences of District 12. When Katniss steps in to take the place of her sister in the Hunger Games, she knows it may be her death sentence. If she is to survive, she must weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
***********

Side Note to Berry: Does the plot sounds familiar to you? The Japanese thriller you mentioned? Awww!!!!

And I really wanna read He’s Just Not That Into You and Marley And Me, before I catch both movies in the cinema.
Argghh!! Make it 72 hours in a day for me please!!

The Fat Brother

I am on leave today, and is staying home to mug for the coming exams.

The time is 11am, and I realised that there are no more cup noodles + I’m lazy to prepare instant noodles.
It is Monday, and also my fat brother’s usual day off.

I marched into his room and stared at him.

One look at me, and he said, ‘hungry izzit? i go buy nasi lemak for you.’
No words required from me.

Muahahahahaha~~~

I love my fat brother la. *beams*

Polly is Gonna Donate her Specs..

I did it. I really, finally did IT.
I had lasik done on Friday, and is enjoying my perrrfect eyesight now!!!

The whole process was only less than 15 minutes, but I spent hours doing eye tests and checks.
In fact, I was at the clinic since 10am, and only had my lasik done at 5.30pm.

It was no mean feat to get the surgery done and over with.
I was kept awake throughout the operation and can see the medical equipment touching my eyeballs, can hear the zzzzzzzzzzz sound of the machine, and even smell the burning smell when my pupils were being lasered!

The whole process was painless, but horrifying and so much that I was practically shaking after it was over.

I also had different procedures done on both eyes; IntraLase Custom Lasik for left eye and Microkeratome Wavefront for right eye.
Wanted to take Wavefront (which is the better and more expensive) for both eyes, but somehow, repeated tests rendered my left eye unsuitable for Wavefront.
So I opted for Custom Lasik for left eye and matched it with IntraLase for better effect.

After my surgery on Friday, I was tearing non-stop from the clinic to home.
I was still tearing for the whole evening and barely managed to finish a bowl of instant noodles.
At 9pm, I popped a sleeping pill and slept the Friday night away.
Was expecting that I will wake in the middle of the night, as the sleeping pill was only for 4 to 6 hours, and I was really surprised to be still asleep when Ray called me at 9.30am.
I K.O for more than 12 hours!!!

Anyway, a very sweet Ray fetched me to the clinic for my appointment at 10.15am, despite him only sleeping at 4am the night before.
*beams*

The first review was wonderful, I was already getting 6/6 for both of my eyes and it was less than 24 hours after the surgery.
Dr Ang was happy with my results and said that the little red mark on my left eye will disappear in a few weeks’ time; that was due to the pressure of the suction ring during operation and is normal.

I felt so ok, that I decided to spend Vday outdoors after all!
(Original intention was to stay home and rest my eyes).

Next update will be on my Vday!
Not much photos because I look hideous on camera without my eye makeup, and I don’t want to expose my eyes on the camera flash also.

Safari Zoo Run 2009

07 Feb 2009

Last Saturday, we joined the Safari Zoo Walk Run 2009, which is about 6.2km!
*beams*

Welcome to the Zoo!
The run was in the afternoon, so we can sleep in late and ended up reaching quite late for the event.

I insisted on taking a photo with my runner bib.
Though it is quite obvious from Raymond’s berms to my demin shorts that we are not prepared to run.

Armed with my camera and cellphone, we planned a sightseeing tour in the zoo as we walk.
Only Berry was decked in running suit and I think her mood was quite dampened when she realised that we are not gonna run. Hehe…

The race is starting! So excited!
We were late so we didn’t make it for the first 3 flag-offs.
The last was for family fun run, and there were lots of families with children and prams.
We can’t actually run without constantly knocking over kids anyway.

Check out my bestie, Marvin Lee.
He is forever hyperactive and trying hard to imitate some animal which we saw.
Can’t remember what animal was it. Peacock??

And of cos, we met Winnie, the tigress…

We only managed to see SOME animals!

Me and Sotong on a cow.
Argh, Ben & Jerry’s was just behind me and I didn’t get to eat it! :(

And finally, we reached the finish line..
I think we stray off-course towards the last kilometre and it was drizzling by the time we completed the 6.2km.

Marv and Ray trying doing funny expressions, trying to act tired and happy at the same time.
They were hilarious!

And this is classic.
My bestie leaping over the finishing line in joy.
I am really amazed that he dare to do that in public.

We only changed into the Zoo Run Polo Tee after the run.
I love this photo! We look good together! Haha.

After the run, we decided have dinner in JB, since we were already near Woodlands.
Marv let Ray drove his car, and Ray was really excited about driving a manual car. Haha.
We shopped in Holiday Plaza, and I didn’t buy anything this time.

A really marvelicious and cheap dinner!
I love dining in our neighbouring country.

After dinner, Ray insisted that he wants to go for massage.
So off we go! It was just opposite the place where we had dinner.
Marv and I opted for foot massage, while Ray and Berry took up foot + head & shoulder massage.

The place turns out to be surprisingly good! There were TVs and individual headphones for customer.
But Marv said the massage was not very fantastic. He enjoyed it in Bangkok more.

The two posing couples.

After massage, we went for a car wash before coming back to Singapore.
The car wash is really cheap and they even have a card for you to collect stamps.
I think 5 free stamps entitles you to 1 free car wash?

There was a slight jam at the customs, and we finally reached Singapore at about close to midnight.
Not very late, considering that it was a Saturday but all of us were tired out.
So we went back home.

A very enjoyable and memorable Saturday!
